Summary

Location: Clayton Reserve, Cr of Boundary and Macaulay Rds, North Melbourne A minimal and symmetrical granite structure, it consists of a domed roof, four windows to access the drinking fountain and a hexagonal base. This simple structure has its origins in Islamic architectural forms. Little is known of the history of this fountain near the corner or Boundary and Macaulay Roads. John Clayton, after whom the reserve and fountain are named, served as town clerk from 1891 to 1915. .
