Location: cnr Macarthur Ave & The Avenue, Parkville Granite obelisk in memory of Lieutenant James C. Roberts This austere granite obelisk was erected in memory of Lieutenant James C. Roberts, who died in the Boer War, fought between 1899 and 1902. As a child he played in Royal Park, where the memorial is located. Dedication date: Saturday 17th February, 1900
