A one pound note, showing the landing of Captain James Cook in Botany Bay, from a 1902 painting by E. Phillips Fox. This note is a part of the 'Harrison Series' of bank notes, named after their designer and printer Thomas Harrison. Harrison was the first Australian note printer, appointed to the position in 1912. Printed in Melbourne, the Harrison Series of notes are among the earliest editions of Australian bank notes.
