Summary

This postcard depicts Princes Bridge from the south bank of the Yarra River. It is dated to c. 1908 with reference to the sender’s mention of it “getting nearer fleet time now”, which refers to the arrival of The Great White Fleet into Port Melbourne on 29 August 1908. As is typical of a winter’s day in Melbourne, the sender suggests that Sunday was wet.
