Summary
This postcard from the 1960s captures Princes Bridge and the Yarra River from the north bank. Visible on the skyline is the Vacuum Oil Building (1960), alongside the lower APM Building (1961) prior to the development of the Victorian Arts Centre. The APM Building was removed when the precinct was redeveloped for the Arts Centre and South Gate, however the Vacuum Oil Building remains today.
Curt Otto Teich was an innovative American publisher of German descent who produced hugely popular color postcards. The Curt Teich Company (1898 - 1978) were the first in America to produce color postcards on an offset press.
