Illuminated manuscript / certificate with City of Melbourne seal presented by Council to Mrs McBean, ‘relict’ of Cr Alexander McBean of the Smith Ward after his death in 1869. The manuscript was illustrated by law stationers, Harston & Co., of 77 Chancery Lane. Chancery Lane was the former name of the section of Little Collins Street between Queen and Williams streets.
