Barry McGee is an American painter and installation artist who began his career tagging and graffitiing public places before he shifted his practice into the gallery.
This untitled painting features McGee's signature droop-faced figures. It was created as a part of the Kaldor Public Art Project 14 in 2004, for which McGee transformed the vast space of the then newly converted Meat Market, in North Melbourne, into a dystopian urban vista.
